don't ever go to kmart.

I hope I'm not coming off as Scrooge-y as I feel.

I am tired of watching NOTHING but Christmas movies and TV shows.  That is a rule in the house: no TV unless it is Christmas.  The only exception to this rule was Clash of the Choirs, which was amazing, btw.

I am sick and tired of shopping.  Today, we went to Danville.  Mom only had two stops to make and we refused to go to Wal-Mart.  Well, then she remembered about three more things she needed, so she decided to just run into K-Mart, because that would be better.  WRONG!  K-Mart is HORRIBLE.  First of all, yuck.  I mean, I don't want to be mean, but seriously, it just smells like BO.  Then there was a fight between a cashier and a disgruntled customer over a pair of $5 house slippers.  My mother and I have sworn off K-Mart for a long time, if not forever.

And I don't want to wish my time away, but dang...is it New Years yet?  I can honestly say that I'm more excited about New Years Eve than Christmas.  I feel horrible for saying it, but it's the truth.  I don't know, I guess since I can't stand to spend more than 15 minutes with my dad's side of the family and we have nothing with my mom's side any more, Christmas just isn't what it used to be.  I try to be a good sport about things, but since last night, I've been exceptionally mopey and just not in a good mood about anything, honestly.

ANYWAYS.  Moving on.

I have ran into Allie twice since I've been home.  I saw Lindsay the other night in Danville for the first time in probably three years.  It was really good to see them, but when we leave there is no, 'we should hang out' or 'call me sometime' because, quite frankly...what would we talk about?

I went to the high school the other day and talked to Mr. Smith.  I love that man...however, he doesn't think it would be a great idea to go into education and administration.  "Krista, they've got me on a chain."  I don't know about that...but we'll see.  I had an actual real-life conversation with Mr. Byrum....more than the usual, 'Remember that time you flipped the golf cart?'  He's awesome.  And I'm SUPER pumped that the high school is doing Beauty and the Beast this year!  It should be amazing.

We went to visit Grandpa the other night.  It was bad.  He can't really make sentences anymore.  It's just kind of words thrown together.  He'll have moments where he is fine, like this snippit for instance:

Grandpa: Who's this little girl?
Mom:  Well, that' s my little girl...your granddaughter."
Grandpa: Well, she's not THAT little.

Yep, that's my grandpa these days.  I HATE it.  I just want to scream when I leave that place.  Alzheimer's sucks.  Real bad.

Oh yeah, my cell phone isn't working.  If you call, you can't hear me.  If I try and call, it won't connect.  However, my text messaging is still working, so that is a plus.

Well, I think this venting session helped a little bit.
