high school days.

I've been cleaning my room today.

Well, not so much cleaning...since mom keeps it clean throughout the year.  But like, looking at pictures and stuff from high school.

My room hasn't changed since I was in high school; even though I was home the two summers after I graduated; I never took down any of the pictures (and trust me, there are a lot of them) or anything.  There is NOTHING that would show that I am a Franklin College student or had even left Cayuga.  It's weird.  No pictures of anyone, nothing.  At first I was absolutely disgusted by this; I wanted to just box everything up and get new pictures.

But then I started looking.  And thinking.  High school was a freaking blast, no matter how much I want to forget about it.  I had some amazing friends whom I thought I would never lose touch with.  When Mr. Coleman told us that we had no idea how much fun college would be, the people who were our friends now would become strangers,  and that while we thought high school was the best time of our life, it wasn't....we laughed it off, thinking he didn't know what he was talking about.

Well, let's face it; WE didn't know what we were talking about.  I wouldn't trade my high school days for anything, since I was fortunate to have a good experience, but it doesn' t hold a candle to college.  I have found my true friends.  I have had the best times of my life.

So I decided to not box up all of the pictures; most of them will stay.  A few will be taken out, but I'm going to buy a huge photo album tomorrow and put most of my high school pictures in there.  Those memories are great ones.  Seriously; winning state, being the #1 athletic supporter of north vermillion; homecoming wars; prom; random days at school...they aren't things I should try and forget.

I also have a lot of junk.  And clothes.  3 bags worth to be exact.  Goodwill will be getting a nice donation from me tomorrow. :)
