Going Caffeine Free

One of the things I have to do before surgery is give up soda and caffeine. I figure it's one of the easier adjustments. So, before I really get into my diet and exercise regime, I'm kicking the caffeine. I decided to go cold turkey and just get it over with. I'm most of the way through day 2 and it's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it still sucks. I have a few small headaches throughout the day and my energy drops drastically after lunch. But, I know a few more days it will be out of my system and I can start working everything else.

Although, I've already started on most of it. I'm cutting down on my food intake and I've been working on eating slower. That's been trickier than kicking soda, but I'm making progress. Exercise is probably going to wait until we get home from vacation.
