Hello out there, friends!

So I've had a lot of stuff going on lately. Married life is good, but all the changes that are going on in THIS newlywed's life make me exhausted.

JD and I headed out last Sat at 5am to go to Bethlehem, PA where we'll be living. It was a 7.5 hour drive and then we were in the car all day going from place to place. We were VERY discouraged at first because we couldn' find anything. Then finally the second to last place we looked was good for us. It's a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom townhouse with a full basement. It's in a residential area and is also a little secluded at the same time so that's nice. There is a walkout basement as well and we have our own back yard. The people who own it live 'up the hill' in a house so that's nice to know. I like the lady, I'm not sure if I like the guy.

Here's the thing with the guy... well, my first impression is he's a slightly chauvenistic ass. But I think it could be that I am used to being the one to take security deposits, have people sign leases, check their credit, etc. and now that's his job and I have to be the submissive tenant. Obviously my own issue.

So the carpet and tile are absolutely HIDEOUS in this place. Clean and all, but damn... I think JD described it like imagine 100 schitzu dogs (however the hell you spell their name) of brown, black, and white... and imagine thousands of their pelts thrown together on the floor... and that's the carpet. The tile gives him vertigo (LOL) in the kitchen... I'll be sure to take pics when I get there.

So he leaves next Fri (Dec. 1st) to move in. :( I don't know when I leave. I have to fly in on Dec 3rd for an interview (too long of a drive for me, thanks) and it's a job I really want.

So here are my job options so far:

1. I've been in touch with this place called Kidspeace. It's this non-profit who takes kids from Jersey, NY, etc. and these kids are residentially treated for severe behavior issues, etc. The kids I could work with are teenage, male sexual offenders. Yeah. Not so sure about that. AND you have to physically restrain them sometimes due to their behavior.

2. This is the one I really want and I think it's probably the only thing harder (emotionally) than what I do now. Foster care and adoption work. This is the interview I have on Sunday the 3rd. The lady seems interested in me. There are 2 openings (but only one is advertised) and the one she was talking to me about is the one that isn't advertised (it's for a masters-level she said) so that's good... because you know that's non-profit too... and we all know how much people make who work for non-profits (story of my life!)

So that's where we are.

But I couldn't just go without posting some of the pics from our photographer

If you can't tell that this is me by now, I don't know why you're still on my FL...
