It has been A WEEK.
But I am sort of coming back to LJ a bit. Kingsman stuff over here and all ...
And I figured I would start with an amusing story.
So, like, today, I had two students in the lab at the same time. I'd helped the girl, and was working with the boy. His assignment was to learn ALL THE VOCAB (literally like 100 words, all much longer than he's ever needed to before, 'cause ESL), and he was having trouble pronouncing them. Whatever; the assignment was to pick some of the list that fit his personality.
He chose like, effervescent and stuff like that. Then the girl, who knew him from a previous class, asked him what words he thought would fit her.
He said, "This word is you. Promiscuous!"
The word was pragmatic.
I was trying so hard not to laugh as I told him that was NOT THE WORD he meant to say.
The girl asked what promiscuous meant. I had to explain it to her as best I could, that no, she's NOT promiscuous; girls who are generally have a lot of sex with a lot of different people.
So that was my day.
Also, Monday's my birthday. I'm totally not even going to work.
