Orientation

So I decided to join orientation, get her a week early, follow the schedule and prepare for the new students. Didn't get a small group, which kinda bugged me, but I figure it's God saying I need to be more creative with how I meet more new people. I get lonely, stressed, not sweaty and then smell really nasty.... But all in all, I think I am enjoying it for the most part.

I sat in the lobby today from one thirty to six thirty checking in new residents and even had an appearence in the video (I didn't show up because it was too dark, but that's ok, I hate cameras.) As hospitality we attend to bags and stuff, but I got lucky. I sat in a chair all day marking off names and giving kids their folders. Then we ran on stage (I played a "new student" who threw a bag in the air which someone caught) to introduce ourselves, then all ran back with the rest of the team to scream welcome home! This was preceeded by standing in the lobby of the Fieldhouse clapping and cheering as the new freshman, parents, and other students came in-- for about half an hour. It's very energy consuming....

We have bright orange shirts and stick out like a sore thumb. They're pretty cool. Orientatin gives you a chance to hang out and get to know people better, which is cool. But the halls were pretty empty until tonight. I look forward to seeing every one come back Sunday.
