The Great Escape

It's finally over--all summer I've been working, never feeling like I had time, but today is different. I slept in, and rook a nice warm shower, then came downstairs to do.... nothing. My last day for the summer season was yesterday (and yesterday and Monday I was on register!) I got another person to fill in my 5-8 shift so I could go home at five. It was Cruise Night, where a bunch of old cars come in, and it's jam packed wall to wall almost never ending lines starting at 5 and ending at 8. :P Was not in the mood, since I had been working six hours already. And the real reason--I knew they'd put me in Dining Room. I was affrimed in that by a small mistake on the board. the nights schedule had not changed the girls name and had put me on the board--in Dining Room. They changed it thankfully. All in all it was a pretty good day. I felt relieved, happy, and a little odd, since my working days until Christmas are through.

It was nice to come home to my mum and dad. We went out to eat at Chili's, and then I went shopping and home. It had begun to storm, and I wound up having to go out in nonstip lightning to take down the umbrella from our kitchen set so the glass table wouldn't break. I had to crank it in, then rope it and lift it out of the hole--no easy task, esp. when the sky is pouring down buckets and shotting off fireworks. However, I felt.... exhillerated. I have this really odd fear of storms, and hate going out in them. So that was a new thing for me.

Now on to pressing matters. I'm looking ahead to the coming two and a half weeks going wow, where did time go? Soon I'll be back for orientation, and a new year will begin, with many changes. It's a sobering thought and I pray God will grant me the grace to get through it, whatever it holds. In about one year from now I plan on the Austrian getaway (Fall 2005). I'm a little nervous, but look forward to it, since I already know a handful of people going--and if you are going then, give me a shout out! If the school doesn't plan a flight, it would be nice to cooridinate as many students as possible. I am also planning a trip to Washington for next week... So please keep me in prayer. This high alerts always make me a little nervous. All in all, life is good.
