This weekend was really good. Matt and I went drinking Friday night - which we rarely do. I was really in the mood for tequila (although that wasn't really quenched) so we went to Salty Dog. Had a shot and a beer. Then we walked to the church house for a "fiesta." Got there an hour late so most of the food was gone but we scrounged together enough to make burritos. We hung out there for awhile, catching up with church people. We wathced the kids (they all seem so young!) beat up on a pinata and got to steal some candy. Take5s are yum-o! The guys from the group were heading to Durty Nelly's for guys night. Rudy invited Matt and I along - since I come attached to Matt. So, I got an interesting glimpse into guys night. Started a little slowly - with Matt and I sitting by ourselves in the back because there wasn't enough room at the other table. That was nice though. At some point, we were invited to sit with the rest of the guys. I think a few were a little miffed that I was imposing on guys night, but I think I'm a pretty cool girl to hang with. Definitely not prissy. I like to think I'm a guy's girl. Anyhow, we sat around, getting drunk, talking about.. sex. It was a good time. I had to chug my beer at one point for clapping along to a song at the wrong time, I chugged a vodka tonic that had been passed around the table (no one likes those - yuck!), Lee bought me a double shot (guys think it's fun to get girls drunk) and then I had half a beer. Add the two beers I'd had before all that. Yeah, I was a little drunk but I thought I did pretty well. At the end of the night, all I could say was "I can fucking hang!" I can hang.. pretty well.

So, Saturday I was pretty tired. I had a headache and felt a little hungover but never puked. I missed my riding lesson - I just didn't think it was a good idea to be on a horse. Plus my tummy was a little upset. We bummed around for a large portion of the day. Ran a few errands. Tried to watch the game somewhere Sat night but we overslept during our nap and missed it. It was crazy busy by the time we tried to go out. We listened to most of the game on the radio though. Of course the Gators won. No surprise there. We decided to rent some movies and stay in that night. So we rented The Hills Have Eyes, Failure to Launch and Bubble. I was in the mood for a scary movie so we watched Hills first. Don't ever see that movie. Seriously. It's not even scary. It's just grossly disturbing. I wanted to throw up and stop the movie half way through. Ugh. Thinking about it still makes me shudder. We decided we needed a happy movie after that so we stayed up for Failure. I thought it was OK. I could have done without the cutesy animal parts. I'm usually a sucker for movies like that but this one just didn't really do it for me.

Sunday we slept in late again. It was really nice. I've decided I really like sleeping in. We did some chores, ran some errands and tried to see a movie downtown. They were playing West Side Story at the downtown plaza (an outdoor area) for free so we packed a picnic, grabbed our blanket and headed down there. It was threatening rain but we were hoping it would pass. It didn't. It sprinkled at first, then started spilling big cold drops (I really like those). We decided we should head out of there before we got drenched and made it back to our car just before the downpour. So, we watched a movie at home and had our picnic there. I should mention that we got a nice home theater system so movies are that much more enjoyable now. Watching Black Hawk Down was definitely better with surround sound.

This week is going to be a little crazy. As I imagine the rest of the weeks until the wedding will be. We've got lots of last minute meetings, things to buy/figure out, we've got a few things to design. It's going to be busy. I would love to squeeze in dinner with some friends, some girl time and definitely need to hit the gym. I was advised (by a wedding e-mail) to find a relaxing activity to do everyday until the wedding. I'll try to come up with something.

Oh yeah, and the Vikings won last night! Woo hoo!
And we canceled our cable - finally - yesterday. The bastards were trying to give us the run around. We really haven't been watching it for a few weeks, but it'll be nice not to pay for it now.

i'm a fan, it's a good thing, adventures
