Four months!
My wedding is four months away. What a crazy sentence! I still don't think it has sunk in that I'm getting married. That I'm promising myself to someone else. That I'm doing something so permanent. But I'm excited about it.
We have a reception site booked now! Let the real planning begin!! We're having it at a hotel, which I'm not crazy about, but it'll work. It's a good size room and a pretty blank slate. The carpet sucks but I think that's a rule - hotel carpet has to be ugly. I'm glad that it's all inclusive; I don't have to worry about renting chairs and tables, I don't have to worry about catering or the bar, I don't have to worry about setting up, I don't have to worry about coordinating between vendors on the big day. All of that will be nice. And I plan to make it look amazing - no one will even realize it was once a stale ballroom.
I've got lots of little things to do now - have my dress cleaned and altered, pick out favors, finalize the menu, etc - and few big things left - mainly the cake and flowers. I really don't think I need to go through a florist for my flowers. I want something really simple. In fact, I basically made the bridesmaid bouquet on my own already. I'm just not entirely sure where to get all the flowers I'll need. I should probably set up some meetings, just to see what it would cost and such. I've got a pretty good idea about the cake design - and we've already chatted with a baker a little bit about it.
At this moment I feel pretty good about things. I'm glad I have a place to work with now. And someone to work with. That helps. Now I just need to decide what I really want the room to look like.
