John/Delenn moments in Babylon 5
So, for weeks now I've been pestering my friends on twitter, facebook and tumblr about Babylon 5 and how awesome John and Delenn are. So, it's about time I made a post on LJ too :^p
When I was still unemployed and had no real life, I watched Babylon 5 again (yes, only a couple of weeks ago) and was reminded why, when I saw it for the first time, almost 15 years ago, I thought it was the best thing ever. Because yes, once again, I think it's the best thing EVER!!!!
Not only for the amazing storyline (it really does feel like you're watching one big movie) but also for the amazing cast and the amazing thing that is John/Delenn. Finally, FINALLY!!!! there is an actual ship in sci-fi that's not just all looks and sexual tension. This is a ship that evolves from the first moment they meet, onto their first date, to all the little moments that make them fall more and more in love with each other and then they kiss, get engaged, get married, have a kid... YES!!!!! Finally a ship that works out!!!!!
The final ep is heartbreaking and will leave you in a miserable puddle of your own tears feeling like you have lost a piece of yourself that you'll never be able to reclaim, but we will not mention that heartbreak right now.
I know many of you will scream 'what about John and Aeryn from Farscape'? And yes, I agree, they were also a full fledged beginning to end ship, but Farscape was made 1 or 2 years after B5 ended and if it hadn't been for 'The Peacekeeper Wars', John and Aeryn would still be in itty bitty pieces on the bottom of that lake and we would still be grieving them. All before they got married and before they had their kid.
I love both those ships, but John and Delenn, I dunno... They just have this insane cuteness and adorableness about them from the very beginning that I think John and Aeryn sorta miss and there's only that sexual longing between them for a very long time. Like every time Delenn walks into a room, John's face just lights up. For just a moment it seems like he has forgotten about all his troubles.
Anyway, this post wasn't meant as a rant about what ship is best, but to hand you all a list that contains all the moments between John and Delenn in Babylon 5. Both the series and one of the movies.

- Delenn begs Kosh to save John while he’s falling
- Delenn visits his quarters to see how he’s doing
03.01: Matters of Honor
- John confronts her that she does know the Shadow ship but she’s all ‘I aint a lier’
- Delenn walks around with him on the White Star while introducing him to it and yes, touchy feely again

- another cute scene where he’s all ‘you ready?’ and she’s all ‘no, but go kick ass!’
- John helps her up after the attack and they’re being all touchy feely
- when the Earth dude starts asking questions, she totally lies for him!
03.05: Voices of Authority
- They share some meaningful glances during the meeting with Draal and the others
- John kisses a naked chick, but his attitude is all ‘my heart belongs to another’
03.06: Ashes to Ashes
- They share meaningful glances during the meeting with the others and Stephen’s face is all ‘they’re so doing it’
03.08: Messages from Earth
- Some more meaningful and worry!face glances during the meeting with Dr. Kirkish and after it, he asks Delenn to stay because he needs her for this
- They talk in the observation room and are touchy feely then they go to the meeting with the others and they’re all ‘we will kick ass together’ and as they’re walking to the shuttle, they’re all touchy feely again
- on the bridge of the White Star they touchy feely and share smiles that make you melt
- when he wants to sleep, she’s right there next to him and he’s all ‘these things suck and I need rain to sleep’ so she’s all ‘imma make rain’ and then they hold hands. She also sees this as night number 1 but he doesn’t know that yet.

03.10: Severed Dreams
- Delenn, being the BAMF that she is, totally pwns the attacking fleet and is all ‘my man is the best, so fuck off!’
- When Delenn gets back, they’re all cute and touchy feely and John kisses her hand. Then when they stand in front of the applauding crowd, John wraps his arm around her.
03.11: Ceremonies of Light and Dark
- They walk down the hallway and Delenn explains the rebirth ceremony to him
- Delenn gets kidnapped and John’s angry and the look on his face is all ‘iz gonna kill you’
- in the fight to save them, Delenn takes the knife in her back that was meant for John, he goes after the dude who did it and beats him to a pulp
- during the rebirth ceremony, John holds her hand and admits that he can’t imagine his world without her in it and when John leaves sickbay they share a long look
- look at our cool new uniforms!! (okay, this has nothing to do with JD, but it’s awesome!)
03.12: Sic Transit Vir
- walk and talk and being all cute and he asks her out for dinner in his quarters
- during dinner he’s all apologetic for his bad cooking and she’s adorable about it
- she actually eats a lot of his food even though it apparently tastes like shit
- she visits him after the attack and they’re being all cute again with lots of smiles and lots of touchy feely and they ALMOST KISS!!! Damn Susan for trolling them!!!
03.14: Ship of Tears
- In Delenn’s quarters they’re talking about G’kar and John gets all protective of her and she’s all ‘I have to do this’
03.15: Interludes and Examinations
- In the warroom Delenn is all ‘go to bed’ and he’s all ‘I can’t cause I need to stack marbles in a corner’ then she’s all ‘you can totally kick their ass’ and then some more touchy feely
03.16: War Without End (1)
- She walks into the warroom and is all ‘you need to come with me now’
- He wants to know why they need to leave now and she’s all ‘help me, I never really asked you for anything else’ and he can’t really do anything else but go with her
- when they get onto the White Star he walks straight up to her and she asks him if he trusts her and he says ‘with my live’ and then she says ‘guess what, we’re gonna steal B4’ and he’s all ‘WTF? are you serious?’ so she’s all ‘duh!’ and then he gives her a smitten look and is all ‘let’s do it’ and Sinclair gives them a ‘so doing it’ look
- when they enter the rift, they hold hands and when Sinclair sees it he’s all ‘awwww’
- when John’s time stabilizer gets hit, Delenn has a woo face and is all ‘noooooooo!’ and then she’s all ‘we need to find him, fuck the mission’
03.17: War Without End (2)
- John meets future!Delenn and they hug and are all touchy feely and she tells him about their son and he’s all ‘huh?’ and then she says she loves him and then they kiss
- he reveals to future!Delenn that he’s not supposed to be here and she tells him that he told her they would meet like this in their past
- when he tells her he’s being pulled back to the present, she tells him several times not to go to Z’ha’dum
- as he gets back to the present, Delenn runs up to him and she’s all worried and they’re being all touchy feely and cute
- Delenn switches suits with John so she’s now trapped in time
03.18: Walkabout
- John gives Delenn a smitten look during the warroom meeting and then she totally outvotes him
03.19: Grey 17 is Missing
- They’re walking down the hallway and he’s happy she’s been named Ranger One and then he gets touchy feely
- When the Minbari come into the station for the ceremony, John and Delenn have a sweet moment where she tells him about her parents and then leans her head on his shoulder and he wraps his arm around her shoulder
- John is all worry!face throughout the ceremony and then proud!face
03.20: And the Rock Cried Out, no Hiding Place
- She comes to visit him in the Warroom and guilt-talks him into joining her and the representatives from Earth and again they’re being all cute and touchy feely
- During dinner they sit next to each other and she gives him smitten looks
- After they figure out the strategy behind the Shadow attacks, she literally drags him out of the warroom because she gets all worried about him when he wants to start thinking like their enemy
- during the singing, they smile and give each other smitten looks
- when she introduces him to the White Star fleet, they get all adorable and touchy feely and THEN THEY KISS!!!!!
03.21: Shadow Dancing
- she comes into his room and they’re being all cute and adorable and she says ‘let’s spend the night together’ and he’s all ‘agvzedveyfvhhybolplmdqscbskbgfdvbdvosjki’’
- when they walk onto the Minbari cruiser, they’re touchy feely again and then in the tactical center they’re being all cute again
- during the fight they work together as one
- after the fight they’re being all woo!face and hug tight
- back on B5, they share some intense looks while talking to Garibaldi
- when in a meeting with Susan, Delenn gives him worried looks
- C&C messages him with a message from Delenn that says that she awaits his pleasure
- Delenn is watching over him as he’s sleeping and giving him smitten looks then Anna enters and she’s all ‘WTF?!?’ and drops the pretty snow globe
03.22: Z’ha’dum
- He gets out of bed with Delenn there and Anna there and he’s all ‘WTF?!?’ and when Delenn leaves he’s all ‘don’t leave!’ but Anna is all ‘ignore her, I iz more important!’
- In his office, he’s all pissed at her and blaming her and she’s all ‘we did it for your own good and I love you, please believe me’. Then they’re both sad!face
- in the message he leaves for Delenn he’s all ‘I’m sorry but I need to do this, but I want to live so I can be with you and I toats love you!’
04.01: The Hour of the Wolf
- Delenn is totally sad!face during the entire ep (but it’s real sad so you shouldn’t watch it)
04.02: Whatever Happened to Mr. Garibaldi?
- Stephen shows Delenn one of John’s personal entries where he’s being all cute and admits he’s fallen in love with her and it makes her cry and after that she’s trying to finish what he started with the League
- when Lorien asks John if he has something worth living for, his answer is: Delenn
04.03: The Summoning
- When John walks onto the balustrade, Delenn’s face is all ‘WTF?!?’ and then confuzelled and then all happy but still mixed with disbelief and then she walks up to him and they’re being all cute and hug tight and nuzzle!!! They fragging nuzzle!!!!
- I think this is the first time during a meeting with others presents that they call each other John and Delenn instead of Captain and Ambassador
04.04: Falling Towards Apotheosis
- Delenn visits John in his quarters and she’s totally guilt ridden and apologetic, but he admits he still loves her and that the thought of her helped him through it all
- when they attack the Vorlon ambassador, Delenn is all worry!face and then he totally jumps in front of her when the Vorlon attacks her. After the attack she runs over to him and wraps her arms around him and is still all worry!face
- when Lorien tells them that John only has 20 years left, she is totally sad!face and teary-eyed but when they’re alone they talk it through and then HE GIVES HER AN ENGAGEMENT RING!!!!! and then they’re being all adorable again and they kiss
04.05: The Long Night
- In the warroom, he glances at her engagement ring twice and after seeing the planet being destroyed they’re all touchy feely and worry!face
- Back in the warroom, during the speech, they make the speech together and finish each other's’ sentences. Which is adorbs and proves how in tune they are.
- she comes to get him in his office and takes a hold of his arm when they leave
04.06: Into the Fire
- On the White Star, he’s absolutely proud of her accomplishments and you can see the pride on his face. Of course he also gets touchy feely.
- when they’re talking about Susan, they’re being all adorkable and once again they keep calling each other by first name instead of rank with ‘their troops’ present
- after they have both been held in a dream by the enemy and are released, they immediately hug and then when they talk to the enemy face to face, they totally finish each other’s sentences again
- when Lorien says goodbye, he wraps his arm around her and they share smitten looks
- as they’re on approach to B5, he has his arm around her and she leans her head on his shoulder and they’re being all cute again
04.07: Epiphanies
- when he’s looking over the partying crowd, his face lights up when he sees Delenn. They walk up to each other, hold hands and with his arm around her and she snugly tucked into his side they watch the crowd together
- on the White Star they’re being all adorbs and he’s amazed at how well she knows him, then she points out that they are old souls and then they kiss :^D
04.08: The Illusion of Truth
- during the interview they sit really close together and are all smitten looks and cuteness
- after the broadcast, she walks up to him and tries to simply be there for him
04.09: Atonement
- As he walks into her quarters, she welcomes him in a sexy little black dress and they’re being all adorable and she wants them to spend the night together so she can watch him sleep again, but he sees through her and she has to confess she’ll be leaving for Minbar the next day and then they’re all sad!face and touchy feely and more sad!face
- while he’s sleeping, she quietly leaves after a bit of touchy feely and sad!face
- he’s waiting for her when she returns and they hug and act all cute and adorbs
04.10: Racing Mars
- She walks up to him in the garden and is all ‘don’t be sad!face’ and he’s all guilt-ridden and she’s totally there for him and then they’re being all adorbs again and then she invites him to her quarters to spend the night and DISCOVER EACH OTHER’S PLEASURE ZONES!!!! and he’s all ‘booyah!!!’
- When he arrives in her quarters, he’s surprised they won’t be alone and he’s kinda reluctant to do it with others present in the adjacent room but then SHE DRAGS HIM INTO HER BEDROOM!!!

- she visits him in C&C and they have a little talk with touchy feely and he’s all worried but she’s all ‘I can kick ass’ and then they’re adorbs again

- When Sheridan gets captured and tortured, Delenn wakes up, shouting his name before Lenier walks in to tell her something happened

- When he gets onto the Minbari cruiser, she’s the first thing he sees. They run up to each other and kiss and are all woo!face combined with relief and happy!face and then sad!face over what happened to Susan
04.20: Rising Star
- during the press conference they share smitten looks almost the whole way through
- John introduces Delenn to his dad and he’s all ‘welcome to the family!’

- John is very adamant to get her into one of the lifepods and while he’s trying to convince Delenn of this he’s being all adorable about it. When Bo asks her if they really love each other, her smile says it all.

- Opening scene is one of the funniest and cutest EVER! and then in the meeting room they’re all angry!face

- ep opens with them sleeping and with her trying to sneak out and John being all ‘WTF are you doing up at this early hour?’ and she totally lies! Bad Minbari!!!

- John overhears Delenn’s secret conversation with Lennier

- while they’re talking in the hallway after finding out Michael is drinking again, you can totally see she’s calming him down which he confirms when talking to Michael
- Bastards!!! I’ll get the gun... And Delenn faints.
- SHE’S PREGNANT!!!!!! And John is all shock!face, then worry!face, then cute!face, then happy!face, then smitten!face. All the emotions!!!!! And his smitten face!!!!
- when they’re in bed, he can’t stop staring at her and they’re so insanely adorable!!!! and then she’s all worry!face about Londo.
05.20: Objects in Motion
- When she returns from Minbar, he’s waiting for her and they’re all kissykiss and touchy feely and then their goodbye to Michael is really sad :^( And then she proposes to walk the length of the station and they’re all adorable again.
05.21: Objects at Rest
- He’s pissed about the reporters, but she just stays calm as ever
- As they’re leaving for Minbar and the unexpected crowd expects a speech, he pushes Delenn forward. He just knows she will do a better job than him :^p
- In their quarters in the White Star, they’re being all adorable!
- Lennier is all guilt ridden and Delenn is all worry!face over him and John
- She defends Lennier to John, but he stays sceptic about his intentions and then they’re all adorable and touchy feely again

- John wakes up in the middle of the night and records a message to his son for his 21st birthday, as he knows he’ll never live long enough to see his son become 21. Delenn walks in by the end of his recording and they’re being adorable again.

THIS EP IS AWESOME BUT IT WILL BREAK YOUR HEART OVER AND OVER AND OVER NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU WATCH IT!!!! IT WILL LEAVE YOU IN A MISERABLE HEAP DROWNING IN YOUR OWN TEARS FEELING LIKE YOU JUST LOST A VERY PRECIOUS PART OF YOURSELF!!!!
