Duty sucks. I got like no sleep last night because of the stupid space that was flooding and we had to run buckets of water down 3 fucking decks just to dump them. The water sped from a slow trickle to a moderate peeing speed. That should be a nice visual. Anyway, the buckets were filling up almost every hour. Very annoying. Good workout though. So, no sleep. And then in the morning I had to go to DCU which is Damage Control University. Everyone new to the ship has to take it so we can get qual'd. Well this guy, the instructor... He's... unconventional. He had us running around the ship trying to find all these different spaces and sign our names on the papers hanging there. And when I say running... That's what I mean. There was a time limit, you see. Anyway, on one of these "events" we had to run to twenty different stations and sign the paper... well I initialed. And I was the first one done (it does indeed help to be short). Well the previous event was a group event. And he had promised the last group done would have "a little more extra fun". My group wasn't the last. But when he found out I initialed he promotoed me to the losing group. So I had to run around the ship and collect all the signed papers and be back within like 10 minutes so everyone could break for lunch. So me and my two other buddies fucking flew up to the highest level the papers were on (because it was the hardest and farthest and we fucking rock hardcore) and were back, sweating and panting like Michael Jackson at an elementary school with 6 seconds to spare. Unfortunately the other morons in the group couldn't get all the papers on the easy deck (which by the way was the same deck we started out on.. they didn't even have to climb any ladderwells). He let us go to lunch anyway. And here I am. Lunch. I'm not tired anymore. Somehow, running around that ship with no regards for officers and chiefs or personal safety kinda got my blood going.

Oh shit. I just remembered I have a date I forgot to cancel.
