Pop culture update:
Clash of the Titans
Don't waste your money. Unless you enjoy laughing at otherwise good actors (I'm talking about you, Liam) dressed in '70's style disco-glow armor shouting lines that were probably written by an illiterate twelve-year-old. I happen to be one hell of a Sam Worthington fan, but even his emo-eyes couldn't save his character's lack of character, bad lines, and gun's'n'glory plot. I think they blew the budget on giant scorpions and had no money eft to pay writers or editors (sloppy cutting job through most of the action scenes distracted from the film's only true purpose-- to watch said actors fight massive CGI monsters...). I had fun laughing AT the movie, once or twice with it, but really, that's about it.
Supernatural
GUH. Awesome. I mean... totally heaping on the angstmobile. But it's about damn time Dean woke up and smelled the codependency. The whole thing made me long to go back and watch Faith, though, not gonna lie. I love the angel-bastards. Loved seeing Ash again, Pam too (although I really wanted to see her make out with Sam because that pair is hot like WOAH). It was good to see that God did get involved, although I missed the logic of when he chooses to vs not. Overall, glad to see the plot moving forward, but I'm somewhat expecting this season to end with Sam saying 'yes' and us not having any closure at all.
Real life update:
Today was a really good day. I spent it sight-seeing because, now that my departure date is set and tickets purchased (nonrefundable), it seems important to do all the things I always meant to while I was living in California. I only have one more weekend or so between now and then to do it all, too. Spent the morning finishing veterinary license applications, then went to see the mission in San Juan Bautista, went for a run, finished knitting
this sweater and all but the sleeves on
this dress, and rounded out the evening photographing sunset over the pacific. (I'd post pics but am feeling lazy. Just imagine waves, wildflowers, and sun.) Then ate yummy dinner a la Whole Foods and watched Star Trek Reboot for the umpteenth time. Good times, man.
Bring on Easter!
