little things
As I clean my house in preparation for the Great Exodus, I find little things everywhere.
Things that I haven't seen or thought about for awhile. Months, years, lifetimes.
Things that stop me in my tracks. Things that bring me to my knees.
Things that steal my breath and give me a slow and quiet strength.
Things that break my heart as sharply as they did the first time.
Things that light my heart on fire with hope and soul-shattering love.
If I learn to travel light, to do without these things, I will not be the same person. I know this. I don't know if I am that strong. Or that brave.
But I am resilient. And resourceful. And stubborn as all hell.
I figure I'll be all right.
