We were talking at work a few months ago about certain entertainers with issues who are constantly in the tabloids. It was regarding something stupid Lindsay Lohan did, in which everyone agreed there will be a lot of ups, downs and further downs but will likely live a long time. Got to Britney Spears and said about how she'd had a tough time for awhile but seems to be relatively well-adjusted now.
Then got to Amy Winehouse. Others said she'd just a tabloid magnet and not worth the ticket regarding shows in Europe because you know it will be a trainwreck. Which, true but I said that she'd probably die young and these stories will be part of legend like Janis Joplin because Amy is so talented but also drawn to the wrong people and the wrong lifestyle. Back to Black is one of my favorite CDs of the last five years and her version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" gets to me in a way no other version of that oldie does.
I really wish I'd been wrong about her. Rest In Peace.
