This might be a little bit of a bad idea, but who the hell cares.

So I spent the last week or so in Las Vegas riding my dad's coattails as per usual (casinos tend to not give a rat's ass about my quarter video poker preference)... it was an amazing trip, but that'll be for another entry. This entry is about what's going to be happening now that we're home:

The Great Double Concert Adventure of 2012

This started back in March pretty unintentionally when Aerosmith announced their stop in Dallas in July and the tickets went on sale. We were already set to come home from Vegas on Wednesday 7/25, and the concert was Saturday 7/28. Totally do-able. So, obviously: I have had these tickets since March. The "double" came into play when it was announced out of the blue last month that Adam Lambert was going to be at Winstar up in Oklahoma.

On Friday 7/27.

Missing Adam is not an option, particularly since the tickets aren't very expensive at all ($50 for the primo seats, to be exact). This isn't just me saying it, but my mom as well. I told her that Adam was going to be in Oklahoma the night before Aerosmith and her response was, and I quote, "Well we can't miss Adam." So voila: The Great Double Concert Adventure of 2012. We will be seeing two concerts in less than 24 hours in two different states.

When a big concert comes to the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas we always split the cost of a room at the W rather than deal with all the traffic and potential unsafe-ness of walking to the car at night in Dallas. The W is literally directly across the street from the AAC, so it works quite nicely. When we saw Adam at Winstar in 2009 we spent the night at Winstar as well since we weren't about to drive back that night right after the show ended. So, given all of this, the following will happen:

We will have a grand total of ONE day to rest from the drive home from Las Vegas, which is today. Then on Friday morning we're going to toss a suitcase in the back of the car and drive up to Oklahoma to see Adam Lambert, spend the night, drive directly to the W in Dallas the next day for the Aerosmith concert that night, spend the night at the W, then come home Sunday morning.

This is going to be interesting.
