(no subject)
So when I got home yesterday from my dinner, I tried to get on here to tell you guys all about it and the stupid site wouldn't let me on. Sheesh! Anyway on with the story.
We all met up at the school before the dinner. Standing in the parking lot when I got there was Charolette, Nikke, and Nicole. We stood in the very cold wind and waited for Dennis and his wife to arrive. After about 5 minutes, they showed up so Nikke and I jumped in Dennis' car and Nicole and Charloette went in Nicole's car. We get about a mile away from the school when Nikke realizes that she left her 2 tickets in her car so Dennis jumps out at the red light and runs over to Nicole to tell her that we'd meet them there since we had to go back for the tickets. So when we finally get to the place, as we're pulling in, we noticed 2 limos and a stretch hummer. I promised everyone that next year we'd travel to this event in style. The tickets said the event was "semi-formal" so we all dressed pretty nice and thought we were good to go. Now keep in mind none of us knew what to expect from this dinner because we've never been to one of these and all we saw were the words "free food" on the tickets. We meet up with Nicole and Charolette at the door and I tell them I'm taking pictures with that hummer if it's still there when we get out. Everyone agrees it's a good idea. We go in, sign in, and hand over our tickets. As we're walking in we notice everyone is more dressed up then we are. A bunch of the women are in long gowns and such like they're going to prom or something and the men are all wearing suits with ties. Poor dennis just had on a kinda dress shirt (plaid) and dress pants. He felt so under-dressed. WE're all sitting there making jokes and everything when Stephen King and his wife walk over and ask to join us. Ok so maybe it wasn't Stephen King but he really looked like him. We find out he's in the nursing class so we all start talking shop. Once the program finally begins, this lady stands up and starts talking. She explains that she is a runway model (good for her I say) and the she will be teaching us "proper ettiqute". All of us at the table groan when we realize she will be talking throught the entire dinner. Our soup arrives and after she explains the proper way to eat it, Nicole just starts digging in. We all laugh and say forget it and start too. I didn't really liek the soup but I tried it just because everyone said I had to. It was broccli and cheddar. They all said it was very good. I'll just say if you like broccli, then yes it was. About now, Nikke's boyfriend, Jason, arrives. He's a cutie lemme tell you. So now the bread comes out and we all start digging into that. One girl from one of the tables ask how would you say you have to use the restroom so as the model starts explaining, Dennis says "The soup went right through me!" We all start cracking up and the model asks our table, "What is being said over there that is so funny?" We try to play it off by saying we were talking about the soup when Nicole bursts out with, "The soup ran right through him!" as she points at Dennis. Let me just say I almost choked on my bread. Yep can't take us out anywhere. Dinner comes out finally and we had some kind of chicken with rice and vegetables. The chicken was good but it had some kind of weird breading on it and I scraped that all off. The rice would have been good but it had vegetables mixed in. Yeah I'm a very picky eater I know. Then for dessert, they came out with Key Lime pie. I tried it but it was way too tart for me. Even Nikke said it was very tart. I ended up giving Dennis mine. After dessert, this new lady, Lisa stands up and tells us she'll be teaching us dancing. We learned this one dance... it had something to do with a box. She separated the men and women on each side of the dance floor, and then told the men to go over and pick a partner. I leaned over to the woman next to me and said, "This is like high school all over again". She agreed. So amazingly, this guy walks over and asks me to dance. I swear he was the tallest one there! So we're standing and I'm cracking jokes when Lisa says, "Oh wait I forgot to show you something!" So we all go back to our seperate sides and she sows us a few more steps. So then when she says ok pair up again, I look around and there goes Mr. Tall with someone else! I got stood up! So after standing there like an idiot with no partner, I said forget this and I went over and got my camera and starting taking pictures of Dennis, his wife, Nikke, and Jason. It was fun to watch them. Nicole and Charolette left about this time because they had to get up early to go to work. After Dennis saw me standing there taking pictures, the sweetheart came over and asked me to dance. We were laughing the whole time trying not to bump into other ppl. Then Lisa was showing everyone how to dance Merenge... that was pretty funny. I got a lot of good pictures there. Then after that, it was time to go. As we were leaving I made everyone go over by the hummer and Dennis' wife took a picture of Nikke and I standing there modeling it. It's a cute picture. So Dennis drove me back to my car, and Nikke went with her boyfriend and that was the end of the night.
Since I didn't eat much there, I guess I was really really hungry because this morining, I totally pigged out and ate 2 big bowls of Cherrios and half of those muffins from Sam's. lol I was hungry.
Today, I'm going over to R's to pick up the clothes I left there last weekend and to take funny pictures with my stripper wig. Fun times, fun times.
