so at this point in my life i could write a BOOK... but i'll spare you and just leave it that this weekend was one of the best i can remember. quick recap...
friday night, road tripped with emily and claire *always an adventure*... also came upon a few familiar faces along the interstate to join in the fun at just the right time. we spent the night with friends at anna's lake house, woke up saturday in time to watch ESPN gameday from UT and caravanned to knoxville, tailgated all afternoon and wandered the streets... the rain stopped just in time for us to get there and the weather was actually really nice. game time @ 7:45, we found ourselves sitting in the VERY top row, which if you've ever been to neyland stadium, you understand the intensity of that. very scary. very fun. we were surrounded by an overwhelming number of fellow auburn fans, and later we found out that 20,000 tickets were sold to us... which is freaking awesome. thats why i love this school so much... the spirit around here is ridiculous. it followed us to knoxville, filled their streets with friendly "war eagles" in passing and random outbursts of the fight song or boddagetta along the way as well. our band was great, our boys were 100% on their game, and our fans didnt stop screaming until the clock read 0:00. that game was incredible. indescribable. 31-3 at halftime, 34-10 final, and we moved up to 6th in the rankings while UT now sits at 17th. enough said. after that LSU game, this one was highly anticipated, but no one quite expected that. so much fun.
group gathering at moe's following that victory lasted until all hours of the night, much thanks to john o'connor for navigating us through that thriving metropolis. i must say it seemed as if we took over that city, if only for one night, and it was GREAT. even our tennessee friends were picking up our shakers and chiming in "war eagle" by the end of the night. today's road trip back to the AU was also memorable... stopped for a nap with the girls and sticky fingers bbq in chattown, great bonding time with benjamin on the way home, and a lazy sunday night ahead. andddd i am a happy girl...
WAR EAGLE, FLY DOWN THE FIELD
EVER TO CONQUER, NEVER TO YIELD
WAR EAGLE, FEARLESS AND TRUE
FIGHT ON, YOU ORANGE AND BLUE...
"we drove all day, all along the interstate, we sang way too loud, all four windows down... every half a mile or two, i would just glance at you, just to see if you were really there... you wore my grey t-shirt, i put on my cowboy hat, we left our sandals in the dirt, and we rode barefoot all the way, all the way back..." -josh bales
