last week: returned from the LC only to look forward to four tests & lots of studying. this was balanced out only by hannah & lilley's return to auburn and four consecutive nights of extra girls (i.e. claire & emily) shacking up at my place. hardcore bonding time with marian due to her departure from auburn on thursday which was terribly sad and made me realize how incredibly blessed i was to have had her around all summer. managed to pull off a 3.7 gpa for the summer. found a new friend in a total stranger. played with milla who is returned from all her summer travels (paris & san diego) with lots of free time and sisterly entertainment. reunited with the roomies from berta dunn at the pita pit. reminisced with them, and laughed, a lot.
friday afternoon was spent at milla's with the sole intention of getting her properly addicted to the oc. my endeavours were quite successful, and we even ended up catching brad's attention with all the drama that apparently takes place among beautiful people who live on multi-million dollar budgets. we polished off the first dvd in one afternoon. it was great. the parents arrived that evening and i moved my residence out to the lodge at grand national with them for the week. this hotel is amazing & makes me feel like i am ten million miles away.
saturday: plans to lay by the pool all day were quickly changed with the clouds that greeted us once we woke up (at 11:30ish), so the girls decided that it was perfect shopping weather and so struck off to montgomery to an afternoon of shopping. returned home with a few new items of clothing deemed appropriate for the "professional attire" required by the pharmacy school. neat?. dined at the bonefish grill and returned back to the plains for another solid twelve hours of sleep.
sunday: more rain demanded that the entire family lounge around all day and watch a total of two dvds (thats right... eight episodes) of the oc before bedtime. left the hotel for the first and only time to eat dinner. the day as a whole was really quite pathetic, but quite enjoyable. my parents, amid "can they really show that on tv?" and "do people really live like this?" and "is this really what kids are watching these days for entertainment?" are now undeniably addicted to all that is orange county.
today was slightly more productive than the weekend was, but seeing as i'm expected to start school tomorrow morning at 8am (a week earlier than everyone else i know), its safe to say i've just been being as lazy as is physically possible. its so much fun to have the family in town and an excuse to do nothing but play with them 24 hours a day. ellie: i miss you.
seeing as everyone around here goes to sleep by 10pm, i've had a lot of time to just "be still" these past few days, which i've really quite enjoyed and have been able to learn from. looking back over the summer (which now i find really hard to believe has already ended) has had its mixed emotions which are basically all overrided by an indescribable peace that i know can only be coming from One source. that "peace that passes understanding" bears a very similar resemblance to the one that i was overwhelmed with the summer before i came to auburn, which leads me to believe that i have a lot to look forward to. it reminds me on a daily basis that His plan is amazing and the absolute BEST, regardless of the blinders that have been currently placed over our eyes to get us through the transitions.
must get back to seth cohen. i love ya'll. xoxo.
