free friday night flicks

best news i've heard in a long time: john o'connor now has an LJ of his own. i realize that none of you know him, but trust me when i say that oak_honor is worth befriending.

tonight we all piled into margaret's jeep and journeyed out to moore's mill road. the city of auburn was putting on an outdoor movie on a blow-up big screen under this ridiculously large oak tree, and margaret spent the majority of her afternoon convincing everyone she could that it was an event worth attending. although there was some original skepticism, it turned out to be quite a memorable evening. watching "the love bug" under the stars [or, clouds] along with hundreds of other auburn residents and all of their children slash obscenely giant dogs... it's now become a friday night summertime tradition. next time, we plan to have a more successful recruitment, and eventually [at least before football season when they start showing all the away games out there], i'm sure that we will have everyone convinced of the incredible atmosphere that is "free friday night flicks". ben even bought a pack of bubbalicious, which made us all feel [even more] like we were eight years old again. it was great.

zach says thefacebook at UVA has a group for "people with weird names"... soo either auburn doesn't have one of those, or they just haven't found me yet. i hope that whoever came up with the idea for that website is loaded by now... somethings obviously catching on successfully when graduating seniors are creating facebook accounts as soon as they get email addresses and making "friends" with a bunch of people that they've never met. its classic.

i miss the beach. a lot. apparently i have been filling that void with the o.c. dvds that have basically been taking over my life, consuming every spare 45 minutes in the day. i must admit that everything about that show is really cute and quite addicting, actually, but still i would love more than anything to spend this weekend in destin. or new smyrna. or anywhere really... i'm just in desperate need of some real seafood and a lot of sand under my feet. yes... if my summer had some seafood, a job, and a lot more drama, it would almost feel like old times again.

sidenote: along with seth cohen, david gray is my other most recent celebrity crush. if you are needing an ipod update, you can start by downloading "please forgive me", "babylon", and "this year's love". i promise you will fall in love, too.

we're all going to lake martin tomorrow for a farmhouse rush party... and i fully intend to come home 100% sunburned and completely rejuvenated. are there exciting things going on in eustis anytime soon that i should come home for? i miss ya'll, tell me about your week. ellie, when do you return to the LC? and alliecat, you've been there for a while now, surely you have some interesting stories for us?

i love ya'll!
