Kris debuted a new song the other day:

and there are a few articles being written about it. Check the links below:
PopDust: With his chugging backing band playing a shuffle reminiscent of Sun Records-era Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, Allen comes up with an old-school lyric and vocal to make a pop reactionary like Jack White jealous. Singing about being chased by demons all around Memphis, Tennessee (appropriately enough), Allen keeps coming back to what might be the bluesiest catchphrase of the 21st century (by an Idol winner, certainly): “Shut that door and keep that devil out.” It could have sounded gimmicky, it could have sounded patronizing, but instead it just sounds…well, it sounds kind of right. Who knew?
New York Post: Don't get me wrong, I love his debut CD, but Kris Allen is never better than when he's performing live. He's clearly an artist who feeds on a crowd's energy, like some sexy singing succubus. Let me tell you, if this is the direction his sophomore CD is headed in, I could not be more excited. It's definitely got more of a country vibe, but this is some deep fried goodness I could get behind!
Pop Crush: ‘Shut That Door,’ as it is being called for now, has a strong country vibe. Although the singer is known for his pop sensibility, the new song comes as a refreshing change.
Yahoo: Billing themselves at Sirk & The Dirty Minds, Kris and his band played many of their must-hear crowd-pleasers, but then also debuted a new honky-tonky jam, tentatively titled "Shut That Door & Keep That Devil Out," that showcased both Kris's goofy and country sides. It was similar in vibe to one of my favorite Kris tunes, "Alright With Me," and I'd love to hear a studio recording of it on his next album.
