It finally is beginning to feel like I am at school since I am now beginning to think about the papers I have to write. While they are not due until next Fri and Sat I know that I will continue to procrastinate especially since one is about art (which I dont like).

I decided to keep this past weekend cheap since I am spending a whole bunch of money on my spring break trip as well as my 4 day weekend trip. This weekend was APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) which meant that Friday was a holiday but I dont have classes on Friday so it didn't really affect me. Friday I went down to Hyde Park with some of the SED students to check out what was going on as well as watching the Bums for Bush. The goal was to set the world record but according to the flyer they would need 4,000 cheeks...and they only had around 50 people. It was really funny to watch I mean they even had free cheek painting where people would paint things on your butt for you. Nothing really eventful occurred but it was fun to go and see it. On Saturday there was a protest but we decided to skip that. Me and two other people decided to go to a park and read for class but it ended up raining so we went to a cafe in a shopping center to read where we spend the afternoon. We then went to an area named The Rocks to go to a restaurant where they serve kangaroo and emu pizza. It was a 15min walk from where we were (about an hour away from where we live) and when we got there we saw they were closed for APEC. We ended up going to Landsdowne right next to where we live for $5 dinners.

Sunday was the GAB or Great Australian Bushwalk. I decided that I would go one since they were free and I didn't really have anything else to do. I called up the GAB office before I signed up to see what was possible to get to via public transportation and they suggested the Roseville to the Cascades walk. I didn't really worry about getting there until after I signed up...but I definately should have. I ended up having to leave by 7:30am so I could take a train followed by a bus and then I had to walk about 20min. Luckily the lady in charge picked me up at the park entrance otherwise I would have had to walk farther. The bushwalk was fun and it was nice to be away from BU people for a day. Everyone on the walk was older than me but there was a guy and a girl who were 22 and they also had to take the train back and we exchanged numbers so maybe we will hang out some. It was funny becuase the people on the walk were asking me my opinions on Bush and the errors he made speaking this weekend. The bushwalk was a lot of fun but I could have dealt with walking to the cascades and not walking back because it was 8km each way (16 total) which is almost 10miles and it seemed longer since I fell in the creek twice while walking. My sneakers took so long to dry after the walk.

The past few days I have been busy with classes. I am glad that my art and architecture class is half over now (it is only 4 weeks due to orientation adn our trip to Melbourne) but I don't really want to have to write the papers. This weekend I am going to Canberra with the art class to look at more musuems in the capitol...apparently there isnt much else to do there. I guess I will see when I get there.
