its carnival and i'm in chicago...
so here i am still wishing i was with you all in pittsburgh. though, it has been a really fun week.
Wednesday night was Dave's bday dinner- we went to flat top, which is all you can eat stir fry- YUM! it was great- we were there eating for a long time! Then we came back for cake, as usual. jess and I usually decorate the cakes really well- colored frosting, personalized graphics, but this time we were tired and out of ideas, so we just wrote "happy birthday dave!" but it was not very neat and we (or at least I was) pretty embarrassed... so i had told dave that i apologized in advance for the cake, and then i felt like i had to fix it, so before we unleashed it on the masses, jess and i tried to touch it up by adding some color. it ended up slightly more interesting than it had begun, and he, i'm sure, liked it just the same. this one was choc with mint choc chip frosting- i'd never seen mcc frosting before- so i had to buy it. it was really good- and the cake was gone! usually we have to beg the birthday person to take the excess cake home. boggles the mind how after all you can eat stir fry they coudl finish a cake. good though! hehe. :)
Thursday i stayed at school late doing work, then went to a church study, then home, then to PM, which was fun, but there weren't a heck of a lot of ppl there. I ended up having a nice in depth conversation with marina about how we feel like we'll never get married and have to meet ppl outside of the dept!
Friday was SO WARM out! the morning was spent on hw, afternoon, classes, then runthroughs of Chris and Vikram's Acers talks. then i walked home, and talked to mark josh and roxanne, who are all in pittsburgh celebrating carnival without me! i got a bit depressed after calling them, becuase I miss them SOOOOOO much. When i got home, I relaxed for a while. then i had to get out of the apt, bc it was so warm out, plus i didn't want to be sitting doing nothing wishing i was at carnival. so i went to brian's and we walked to toms (talking to my rooooooomie, who's also at carnival on the way)and ended up playing mao (the best game ever!) with them and david and cheryl, and eventaully matt came also. then we also played fluxx. i hadn't played mao since like high school, so it was soooo much fun. :) :) game nights rule! :)
I coudln't fall asleep till 5 am last night bc of thunderstorms and wind that was causing my door to keep banging. blah. today, i relaxed, did hw, walked to my church's kickball tournament to watch a bit, then went home via the gap. now i should do hw, since i leave for acers tmw and have three assignments due when i get back! ack!
well, that's all for now. i miss carnival! I miss all you pittsburghers and pittsburgh visitors! I am anxiously awaiting the call telling me the places!!!
