haha the LJ

Jun 09, 2006 18:52

I was talking to Dave earlier and he said that my updates inspired him to get back on track with the LJ. and to encourage DBo and Errca to do the same. Okay I give myself too much credit-- I don't think he actually referred to my LJ as inspiring, but nonetheless the conversation has led me to another update.
We were having a borderline intelligent conversation… about buying my sister alcohol. Yeah, intelligent for summer, what can I say. I wont bore you further with the details.

Anyway, right now I am talking to Tony, whom I havent talked to in like, a year. He is inspiring me a lot right now, and as you prob. know, I love to be inspired. hehe.

SswirvV (6:55:17 PM): its hard sometimes, because there is this huge fear, not just of being rejected, but putting yourself out there
SswirvV (6:55:21 PM): but think about it
SswirvV (6:55:24 PM): when you look back on life
SswirvV (6:55:35 PM): thats the only way to live
SswirvV (6:55:38 PM): is with your heart out there
SswirvV (6:56:10 PM): becuase even the worst things that can happen
SswirvV (6:56:17 PM): wont matter like monhts down the road
And for my own self esteem:
SswirvV (6:48:40 PM): KJ, you are seriously one of the greatest people I have ever met

Okay so I really would like to live more that way. Less thinking, more living. (the last comment is self-centered and I know that, but like I said, it boosts my self esteem, hehe).
I don’t mean this as a “I’m going to change my life” kind of thing, becuz I love life… but in all seriousness, I should try to be more assertive.

Anyway, what’s goin on… well we went to the obx last week. Good times as always, although we missed everyone that wasn’t there. One of the highlights of the trip would probably be the “best purchase award” which went to stalker and his projectile launcher --used to launch water balloons, softballs, golf balls, apples, eggs, keystone light, and sandwhiches from the deck to the beach. Good times for sure.
I can only assume that “guy talk” was not as exciting without Kevin, but “people talk” did not disappoint. Brian Antkowiak introduced us to the greatest drinking game ever-HORSE RACING! Seriously, play it if you know someone who knows how-it’s a riot.
Stalker, Erin, Erica and I went to SONIC on the way home… gosh I <3 sonic. Everytime I drive to the south, im stopping there. For sure. and I would like to drive to the south more, bcuz as you well know, I <3 the south.

.
Ive started the internship at the Annapolis magazine. Im only getting paid for what gets published, and that blows, considering it’s a good 45 minute drive each way. But I think in terms of experience and resume building, it’s a good thing. I definetly should be working somewhere to reel in the cash, but guess what, Im not. That’s right, F* off, NY&Co/ all retail outlets. I don’t have aim on the computers at work, but I do check my email, so email kjanssen@umd.edu pleasseee!! (I get bored).

Today I went to the doc, cuz I switched doctors and this one requires that I get a physical before she sees me for any type of ailment that may come up. Personally, I don’t really like doctors, and while I support making steve mcnair get a physical before naming him as the ravens starting qb, I don’t think I should have had to go to the inconvenience of having an hour and a half long physical. Not an exaggeration. Yes, I can puff my cheeks out and stick out my tounge to each side. Seriously, what will those things tell you about my health? Maybe that’s why I don’t have an M.D. …

So here is a mildly funny story. (gosh you know it’s pathetic when im prefacing paragraphs with sentences like that).
My cousin is getting married in november (in florida, yay). my grandmother told us that my aunt told her that the groom’s dad is taking everyone to a topless bar the night before the wedding. HAHA. By “topless”, she means “tapas” but no one has explained this to her, so it is kind of funny. She was talking about the dress she bought for the wedding and how she didn’t know what she would wear the rest of the time in florida-“well, I guess it doesn’t even matter what we wear the night before!”
Oh gosh grandma.

Speaking of weddings, Stalker and erin picked a date for their wedding, which is very exciting. And apparently ed is mailing me an invite to his wedding, which is in august (and in WV). Hmmm.

Old people are kept alive too long. If they are just going to sit around complaining, with no will to live anyway, then why are doctors wasting time keeping them alive. Call me cynical, but I don’t care. My grandmother should stop complaining and leave my mom alone. I feel bad for her (my mom). (this would my other gmom… not the one who is excited about the topless bar)

BRIAN ROBERTS BOBBLE HEAD DAY JULY 15TH
WHO’S GOING WITH ME?? Pleaseeeee remind me. (even though I did mark my calendar, lol)

It’s true that the bmore os organization is awful. At least the team managed to scratch out a win last night.. and actually had some moments of looking fairly decent in 4 games against Toronto. Except for some cockamamie base-running by Mel.Mo. and some lack of clutch hitting, etc.
Everytime our relief pitchers come in (no later than the 5th inning of course), I cringe. Todd Williams? Sendy Rleal? What the hell?
On a positive note, I think adam lowen will end up being a pretty good pitcher. We can only hope. And if he does, we can only hope we don’t trade him for some 43-year-old has-been.

Im going to work on changing my attitude back to one that is more positive. This update is pretty bad.

BOWLING tonight! YAY

As a final thought, some inspiration from vogtle:
Vogtlen (8:10:40 PM): oh well the moral of the story is
Vogtlen (8:10:42 PM): be bold!
