Media Diet: The Shortlist

Mar 15, 2007 23:05

I plan on reading, watching, hearing, tasting, and experiencing a great many things.  The list is always expanding since there's a Gregorian imperial crap-tonne of cool culture around, and more being produced constantly.  This stuff, however, I'm probably going to get around to first: these are the books that I'm ferrying around in a bin in the front seat of my car.  I really do plan on reading all of them, and a lot of them wander around with me when I'm not in my car - although I'm doing a really depressing amount of driving lately.  Driving needn't be bad, but I have no stereo for the NPR and I drive a huge patriarchymobile that gets cruddy gas mileage.  One of the things I'd take out a loan for, if I could take out a loan, would be a hybrid.  Gas just slid on past $3/g around here - again - and the TCO of a hybrid is falling even though it's still an investment in the easy-motoring culture.  We'll see how that one goes.

In the meantime, listage.
