Why is he being such a nasty butthead? I can't understand why my mommy and daddy wanted me to go away and train with Piccolo! Now I'm far away from my comfy house in the sun, and I'm stuck here in this big jungle thing

I know you can do this, and that's why me and your father wanted you to train.
i don't want you getting flabby, just sitting and playing video games and using the computer.
What if you were walking down some dark alley, and some punk came out to try and mugg you, or worse?
I'd like to know that you could just blast him into oblivion and that would be that.

And there's no way I'd let myself get flabby! Yuk! If someone tried to mug me of my Pokemon cards, I'd just pretend he was Piccolo and kick him in the shins! Hiiyah!
Are you sure you're all right, though, mommy? I'm not a teenager yet, thankfully! I'm still only 11, so I don't have to worry about yukky boys or makeup for a little while yet! It'll be okay though, momma, Auntie Bulma will fix your head for you while I'm gone, right?

I know it must be tough, sweetheart. Gohan told me it wasn't easy for him either. And no one gave him a laptop, so he didn't have any way of keeping in touch. And I was dead at the time, which made it even worse.
He got through. And I'll tell you a secret, he ran away at one point, but he came back. He knew he had to do this.
Some day, your daddy, your mommy, and a lot of us won't be here anymore. And we'll need strong people like you and Pan to help keep this planet safe.
It may seem scary now, and it may not make any sense, but give it a chance, okay? I think when this is all said and done, you'll be glad you did it.
Besides, next week is the tourniment and maybe your Uncle Piccolo will let you go to that with him. If so, you'll get to see your Mommy and Daddy.

Wow, it makes a lot more sense now. I understand about Gohan, but as I've told people before I'm not a Saiyjin, and there are things I wanna do in life besides fighting... Sure, it'd be good to be able to look after myself, but I don't wanna kill anybody or anything!
I promise I'll at least try to train hard. I wish Piccolo wasn't making it so hard for me! He didn't even help me out when I fell in that big puddle of mud!

You may not be Saiyjin, but your Dad and Mom aren't Saiyjin and they're tough. You're as tough as they are, if not tougher. Prove to everyone just what you're made of.
Everyone knows you'll succeed. If you can't believe you will now, just take that to heart and know it's the truth.
Piccolo is not as mean as he looks. He has to be tough now, because if he broke down, he'd end up giving into you, and you'd never get stronger. So, don't think of him as someone who's against you, all right? Think of him as someone who will help you if he must, but the best way to prove yourself to him is to not need his help.
If they were taking bets on this, my money would be on you, Maron. Cause I know you have the strength to see this through.

But what I meant was, I'm not a Saiyjin, which means I'm just not as inclined towards fighting as people like Trunks or Uncle Gokou. I know my dad and momma are great fighters too, and I wanna make em proud, but fighting isn't all I wanna do!
But yeah, I see what you mean. I'll get through this, I've made up my mind. Piccolo may be a big nasty green meanie, but I'll show him!
