Meh, and yay.

* The most important holiday of the year - the combined Victory Day (23 June), Midsummer's Eve (23 June) and Midsummer's Day / St John's Day (24 June) - just has to fall on a weekend this year. *rolls eyes* No days off work, that is...

It's a good thing we're not the sort of people to go to public bonfires / crowded events, as it's about ~10°C, extremely windy and raining very heavily here today. On the plus side, this sort of weather will minimise the danger of bonfires getting out of hand and forests, houses, villages etc burning down.

* I was sad to learn of Caroline John's passing away recently. Liz Shaw only had one season as the Doctor's companion, but she was one of my favourite companions ever - a thoroughly capable scientist. Also, this makes three of the Third Doctor's four regular companions (I'm counting the Brigadier as one) gone in the last year or two. :-/

* Tits and sparrows are constantly coming around to munch on the balls of feed at the balcony now. They're so cute. Although the tits in particular waste an enormous amount of the food, flinging bits and pieces around everywhere. And I suspect pigeons are using the pot with radishes as a bed at night, as the leaves have been all stomped down several mornings in a row. :-|

* The first chapter of Skulduggery Pleasant: Kingdom of the Wicked is up! I knew that reading it will only get me more impatient for the book (67 days, 11 hours, 10 minutes, 42 seconds to go), but I couldn't resist anyway, so now I've read it 3-4 times, and... I love the chapter. I think I'm really going to like this book. (Shocking, I know. But I think I'm going to like it even though it has werewolves, and I'm not keen on werewolves as a rule, but at least I'm reasonably sure that Valkyrie isn't going to have a grand romantic affair with one. Surely she's learned better from that thing she had with that brooding vampire.) Landy's sense of humour is just so... so bizarre. So random. So funny.
