On Wednesday evening, Lena was picking me up to go for a walk. She parked at the other side of the road from my apartment building. I checked the road, then walked diagonally across the road to reach her car, which took about 10 seconds. The moment I reached her car, a bus drove past me. It was going very fast and passed my by about half a meter.
Lena was shocked but I didn't have time to get scared. I might not have died. Buses can stop if the driver hits the breaks. I might "just" have gotten injured. The driver was probably in control the whole time, etc etc etc
But it's still a wake-up call. I need to pay more attention as a pedestrian. I'm not ready to end my life yet!
Needless to say, this was all we talked about on our walk, lol. (Which was lovely. The weather is great.)
