The Librarians

So I was finally, finally able to watch all episodes of The Librarians. I think one of the reasons I wasn't able to bring myself to watch this show is because I wasn't a big fan of The Librarian movies back when it was just Flynn. I felt they were a little too campy in a way that just didn't work for me. The Librarians, on the other hand, is ( Read more... )

I loved the movies (I actually named my dog after Flynn) and love the series. It's a nice adventure that's never boring. It really keeps me entertained.

I wish there were more shows like it. I mean, dark and edgy shows are enjoyable, but it feels like everything these days is trying to be dark, and I miss shows that are all about shutting off your brain and enjoying yourself.

I agree with that sentiment!

I actually started watching Lucifer and am enjoying it quite a lot. It's unpredictable most times, but still makes me laugh at some times and go 'wow' at others.

Love The Librarians too. Fun, zany, but a very smart show too. The writers and producers are very, very smart men whom also brought us Leverage. Christian Kane was also in Leverage. He is my favorite. Being a Kaniac that isn't a surprise. LOL. Yes, Ezekiel does need to have more of his backstory brought out. Dean Devlin and John Roger's also did that with the backstories of the characters of Leverage. They tend to do it a little bit at a time. Seems they are doing it again with this show. Looking forward to season 3. October can't come soon enough for me!

That's good to know. As I said above I've been burned in the past by shows when it came to backstories, so it's made me wary whenever a character's background seems to be put on hold season after season.

I loved the magic and mayhem in both seasons of The Librarians. I prefer the show when Flynnis absent and the silliness level drops. It is well-written and smart. My favorite character is Stone, played by the multi-talented Christian Kane. I'm hoping he gets more screen time in S3.

Yeah. I like Flynn but whenever he's on everything becomes about him and Eve with the team getting kind of shoved to the back.

I get what you mean about the originals and Flynn even now can be a bit over the top at times.

Yes I am loving the fact that the show cares about continually. The fact the are setting up rules and sticking with them. Also loving the Arthurian legend that they are weaving into the show.

Ezekiel is also my favorite I like his bravado but also that he has hidden depths which I believe he actively and consciously hides. It makes my very curious as to why he feels the need to do so and why he sees himself as the bad guy (although at the end of this last season I believe he was starting to see himself as a hero). I love the episode he got this season because it really stripped him of all his defenses and I think we got to see who he is underneath and all of his potential. I am hoping that with a third season we will finally learn more about his background where he came from and how he ended up working for the government.

I just wish they would get more the. 10 episodes each season! Can't wait till November!

I've been very surprised by how Ezekiel's character is handled. Usually the "kid" of the group is either the comic relief, the screw-up or can't be trusted with anything. But that hasn't been the case for Ezekiel at all.

Then again, one of the things I like about the show is that their adventures don't come about because someone did something stupid. I want the quest to be about stopping the bad guys, not fixing some team member's mistake, and the show has been really good about not going down that road.
