Hey, Guess What, Need Feedback Again.

So in my quest to create cover art andfigure out how to use Gimp, I came up with a new cover design for my next book and I would really love some feedback. For example, should the background be darker, ligher, should the image be darker or ligher? Which is better, the one without the shine or the one with the shine? Oh, that is very, very cool! I definitely prefer the second, myself. The shine gives it a more balanced, completed look and adds depth to it. Seems like it even makes the roots/vines around the outside pop with more of a 3D effect.

I prefer the deeper green of the first. I love vibrant colors.

I like the first one. It is a bit simpler but it also easier to see the dragon and the design.

The one with the shine draws the eye to the art. I think If you lighten the background it will also draw you eye to the art but don't lighten the background color within the art. It looks great dark with the shine in the middle.
