1. The first character I first fell in love with - Neal, but not because of his hotness (though that did help). It's because he ended up being the opposite of my assumptions about him. He wasn't just another good looking womanizer sleeping around at every opportunity. He's a romantic and loyal and cares a lot about others. He totally defied my expectations and once I realized this I fell hard for both him and the show

My gateway into the show was Peter rather than Neal, but I really do adore them both, and one of the things I love most about Neal is that he's so much more than he appears at first glance - his charming con-man ways are tempered by a genuine underlying sweetness and kindness, fidelity and faithfulness. I agree about Neal/Alex - and this isn't because I ship Neal/Sara (I don't, really; I just don't mind it); it's just that Alex would never settle down, and having a relationship with her would almost certainly pull him back to the dark side.

1. The first character I first fell in love with - Rick. Oh, poor Rick. He gets shot, he's in a coma, he wakes up and it's the end of the blasted world. But he keeps going, focused on not only taking care of others but doing right by others. But he's also not afraid to do what he needs to in order to keep others safe
