I saw Michael Jackson's This Is It either side of taking my camera into town to get places such as St Pauls Square inc St Paul's Church, Newhall St, the re-erected Birmingham Wheel and the German Christmas Market. Yes it rained and was windy in the morning.
Weather was ok-ish when at St Paul's Square. By the time I got to the Telephone House it was light rain. By the time I got to the Birmingham Wheel the rain was getting heavy, and was gale force winds. Camera did get wet and lens too. So I put it away, to let it dry and headed on to the AMC via Tesco.
Got my usual sandwich and chocolate. But stayed inside Tesco to stay dry, so I didn't arrive at the AMC too early. While browsing DVDs, games and books I spotted the companion book to James May's Toy Stories. For £10 (£10 off the RRP of £20) - bargain!
Got to cinema to watch This Is It. Trailers included Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock, the Chipmunks SQEAKwel (never saw Alvin 1) and AVATAR. After that was a new Orange ad with Sigourney Weaver.

The footage was quite good. Was like a documentary. Well worth a watch, and not too many people watching it.
They cut between different performances, behind the scenes stuff, and they even shot new cgi filmed bits for songs such as Thriller and Smooth Criminal.
Songs included: Wanna be Startin Somethin, Jam, The Way you make me Feel (with alternate version), Jackson 5 songs such as I Want you Back etc. Beat It, Thriller, I Just can't Stop loving You, Earth Song, Human Nature, Man in the Mirror. Black or White, Smooth Criminal, They don't care about Us.
I stayed for the full end credits (no one else did). Glad I did for extra footage at end, the Heal the World animated logo, and the Michael Jackson Moonwalker logo used as The Michael Jackson Company. The end credits included the new This Is It song. The film was dedicated to MJ's kids.
It was cool seeing newly shot footage for Thriller, even the Smooth Criminal new footage with Michael in the '30s. They green screened him, and put him in footage of an old movie.
After the film went back to taking photos esp of the Birmingham Wheel (I had to wipe the rain drops off the lens). The Frankfurt Christmas Market's were packed. Not much space to move or take pictures, although I tried.
Glad I DIDN'T go to Millenium Point for the light switch on. There was too many people, and according to the News, people knocked some barriers down and there was chaos all around.
