Yesterday I bought a pack of 10 DVD-RW discs (so that I could back up photo's, videos, music etc).
I was able to create a iTunes back-up disc.
Last night tried to write to my DVD+R disc with the photo's but it spit it out. It was recognizing the DVD+R's and the DVD-RW's. Now it only recognizes the DVD+R's.
The DVD+-RW drive is very slow (it even burns slow). Now I've got 9 DVD-RW discs that are not recognized!
Had problems with the software Sonic MyDVD Plus 7 (it kept ejecting the DVD+R last night). Then it said "No Drive Detected" (one of todays issues), but I later tonight found some PX Engine download that "fixed" it. I even tried updating the drives firmware (it made no difference).
Then there was this DMA thing. Last night I put in a DVD-RW disc and the DMA wanted to format it (it failed after half an hour - I didn't label the volume).
Today put in my last CD-R (DMA formatted that) and I copied and pasted the photo's onto it. (I earlier named the volume (CD-R by mistake instead of something like Photos 2008).
Maybe I need a new DVD+-RW drive (with Lightscribe technology to burn images onto Lightscribe discs). Not sure if the engineer is coming back to replace whatever he was gunna do.
I usually don't use this drive for writing DVD's (never needed to, just used to write photo's to CD-R which is easier and quicker).
