I Am Legend
Yesterday last movie of the year 2007 I Am Legend with Craig / crazy_craig.
Went on the train for the first time since London Midland took over from the rubbish Central Trains. Renewed my bus pass. Got a Total Film with AVP-R poster and foil Iron Man poster.
I've been aware of I Am Legend since I got my first Special Effects book, where it has an interview with this French artist who worked on the cancelled Ridly Scott late 1990's version that Warner Bros pulled the plug on (that would have starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Robert Neville). Instead we get Will Smith starring in a film from the director of Constantine.
Trailers: Cloverfield, AVP-R (population trailer - looks like the redband and greenband stays online for us) and Rambo.
They somehow filmed an empty New York, and cgi-ed the overgrown look.
Robert Neville loves Shrek and knows the first film word for word (what is a Dreamworks Animation movie clip doing in a WB movie?)
Emma Thompson makes a cameo on a TV at the beginning (news broadcast in 4:3 not 16:9). She created some "cure" to cancer that had side effects and turned everyone (human) into some kind of zombie / vampire things or dead.
Robert Neville only had hsi dog for company until they killed it off.
He broadcasts on the Internet, and one day this woman and a boy find him midday at the docks and save him.
When the creatures follow them to Robert Neville's house, he ends up blowing himself and the creatures up with a granade, not before giving the woman the cure to the illness that made the creatures.
He plays Bob Marley on his iPod with speakers. The woman has never heard of him. Well it is 2012 (the outbreak happened in 2009).
Neville talks to shop dummies, he placed in places such as a video rental shop where he "rents" DVDs.
