Torchwood is quite good!

Watched Torchwood episodes one and two on BBC Three. It's seems like a good show. Post watershed means more violence, blood, gore, sexual stuff, swearing. Stuff you wouldn't find in Doctor Who. It's NOT FOR KIDS!

Lots of Doctor Who (2005/2006) references. Such as they store the 10th Doctor's severed hand in a jar (from The Christmas Invasion last year). Refs to various events from the first two seasons of the new Who.

Captain Jack Harkness is now immortal. After he was exterminated by the Daleks, and then brought back to life by the energy force on the TARDIS, Jack can now not die. In ep one he got shot in the head, but his wound healed ala Wolverine (Jack is not Wolverine). He hopes to meet up with The Doctor again. Still no idea how he got back from the distant future to present day 21st century Cardiff. Maybe it will be revealed during the 13 episodes or maybe during DW season three.

The shots of Cardiff remind me of the between scenes shots of LA in Angel. After all Russell T Davis is inspired by Buffy and Angel.

They even referenced CSI (saying there should be a CSI: Cardiff). And some horror movie when this alien bit the neck of a man (lots of blood gushing).

... Oh and those cogwheel sliding doors remind me of those Habitat Ring doors on Deep Space Nine.
