This Sunday is quite a day. I've been busy with work at the Labs and I've had some interesting conversations with friends online.
- Alias Harlem Writer and I got to talking about something he Tweeted that sounded so awful I thought at first if it just happened to someone he knew or saw something right out of the news at that time. I realized it was not news at all, as what he was talking about in frustration was the movie "An American Crime", a film based on a true story about a teenager being cooped up inside a basement. He actually sounded so appalled by this, if not creeped out, that he somehow felt compelled to warn me that I might feel the same way he was feeling at that time if I see it, to which I thought 'I appreciate the warning, Friend, but I've seen most of the "Saw" movies so...'. Right. It wasn't very nice to think that considering my friend had just gone through an emotional struggle with this movie. "An American Crime" happened in real life, after all. But so was "Letters from Iwo Jima", yet I fear letting him see this one. For obvious reasons.
- Daniel and I have been getting in touch often these past few days. Today was no different. We touched a lot of subjects this round, from regretting not having a secret hiding place to retreat to when we we're younger, the search for happiness, the inevitability of change, and then admitting to ourselves and to each other that in spite of having our own destructive ids, we embrace them anyway because they're a part of who we are as human beings and as persons. In the middle of our conversation, I had the idea of sharing our chat log here and asked for his permission. He was cool with it, but now, I don't know how to put it up here :( Like Little Prince, he's a good kid, too, and great to talk to. Especially over tea :)
By the way, Little Prince told me before that this week, he will be on vacation. Good for him! God willing, mine will come very, very soon; my best friend and I have some seriously fun stuff to do when I get there. I hope I won't miss Little Prince much while he's away, though. It's been a while since I last talked to Chris and Rik, too.
