• Celebrated my uncle's despedida together with the family at home. My uncle is scheduled to fly back to the US on November 1, thus, the party. As far as the family here in Manila is concerned, everybody's present. My cousins' family from Cavite were also there, so were my brother John, his wife Joyce, and Baby Jacob. My cousin who recently got married was also there with his wife Marj. I made a little contribution with the food-a simple way of honoring and thanking my uncle for taking care of me while I was in the US for three months.
• Went out with my cousins to attend an event at a local mall named Mega Masquerade (Click this link to view our pictures). As usual, my cousin (the eldest of the three sisters) who is fond of cosplays attended in full costume. We saw some of her friends there, took pictures of the ladies and gentlemen in lavish (even skimpy and revealing) costumes, and noticed the somewhat thin number of participants in the wide hall. Eldest cousin told me that another cosplay event is simultaneously happening at another mall, which could be the reason for the small crowd. I wouldn't be surprised if I find out that the crowd at that mall was also thin. Eldest cousin made me realize that overlapping niche events such as the one we're attending divided the crowd just when we expect that these should unite them. It seemed like politics all of a sudden. I felt really sad upon knowing about this. What's worst was that organizers of such events didn't seem to see this problem...
• Bonded a little while longer with my cousins. After we had snacks at Bubble Tea, we decided to watch a movie called Carriers. I'm not going to rant about it now, but suffice to say, if Carriers is indeed a horror movie, it must be the most boring, lack-of-blood-and-gore-and-gross-stuff one I have ever seen in my entire life. I finally understood why movies involving virus infection between humans should turn them into zombies and not just leave them dead. It would be more fun that way. Ask my cousins. They'll all concur.
