And I haven't started packing yet! I had big plans to get out of bed at 9ish this morning, but that didn't happen. I don't know what it is, but all the 5 non-work days I have spent down there I have failed to get out of bed before noon-ish. It's like nothing awaits me up there (even though there are lots of things). Meh. Anyways, I have bought all the stuff I need, and written down a list, so when I get home I just have to throw everything in the backpack. I left the house at 11:45 this morning and it is 8pm now and I have been out since. I am currently waiting for the boy, his lunch break is 1.5 hours late now because of a problem that can't be fixed (man, he must be unbelievably frustrated by now, poor boy).
I looked at my airline's website for the baggage rules. The scout people bought my ticket from Oslo to London, and they will pay me back for my planeticket to Oslo. But because of departure times I have to wait in Oslo for 6 hours, and fly two different airlines. Because of all the flying safety mess they have craazy baggage restrictions. On SAS from Narvik to Oslo I get 20kg baggage + 8kg hand baggage + purse. On Norwegian from Oslo to Stanstead I get 20kg baggage + 15kg hand baggage + no purse. And Norwegian freak out a lot more on too heavy luggage. They also have a 74% on-time rate today, and that makes me really excited about flying with them:p Even though SAS have strikes a lot, they are at least nice and helpful. With all the Norwegian mess in the news lately I wonder what crap they will throw at me. Sigh. Traveling was suppose to be fun...
No reply from the boy, he might be on his way home now:=)
My job on the Jamboree is in the World Villages. That is where all the countries are represented with games and food and exhibitions and stuff. My job might change but that is where I am placed right now.
The weather in that part of England is about 20 celcius and mostly rain. I am thinking Roskilde-wet and muddy, and I have prepared myself with lots and lots of plastic bags. I wish I could bring one of those military beds to get up from the ground in case the tent turns into a puddle. I talked to a girl on Facebook about sharing a tent, she was gonna fix one since she lives closer to Oslo and the container they shipped some stuff in. Last time I talked to her she had set us up in a bigger tent with some other people. I'm hoping there will be room for us so I don't end up homeless:p
I'm planning to take the express train in to Oslo and walk around for a bit, unless I explore Gardermoen city a bit. The express train costs €20 each way (yikes). (Yay, the boy is home, and he is loveydovey today). Maybe I'll go and chill at a nearby lunch place instead (NOT in the airport, been there too much). Stress and be busy I can do at the jamboree. Maybe I can finally finish my Nick Hornby book.
I'll try and update from the jamboree. See you guys later:=)
