We have found a place we like... but...
(there is always a but)
it's a little pricey and way more house than we need.
Would it be hilarious to have a 4 bedroom house when we only have 1 bed? I can think of some uses - reading room/library in the office, creativity room (art, music), exercise room, Master bed, guest bed. The master shower is already piped and set up for two shower heads - woo hoo!
The land is nice, not too far from town but out-of-the way enough there is no regular traffic. The neighborhood is mellow and properties are 'estate' sized but not pretentious. I could see us being very happy there. The gatos will love it!
I hope with all my heart we can keep our jobs and income stable so we can make this work.
The current asking is appx $565k and we are hoping to keep under $500k - with tax, insurance and mortgage that's $3k/mo = twice what we pay for our rental now, and about the limit of what I could ever tolerate risk-wise.
It's bank owned so not clear what room we have, our realtor is looking into it and knows the listing agent really well. He doesn't work weekends :b so Monday we'll find out more.
The listing makes the place look quite shitty so I'm hoping we have a good chance this time.
Tomorrow is hafla or Maureen's b-day party or laundry or procrastinating. We'll see. I need to work on the Development Plan for my mentorship program, and gathering paperwork for the financing.
