well, it's official... I'm moving out.
it seemed like the quickest and easiest option. there were two rooms open in leavey 5- one with noisy, party animal athletes on the second floor, and one with 3 freshmen girls on the fourth floor.
I didn't even bother with the athlete room-- they're right above the room I'm in now, and I know they're noisy. but when I went up to 413, the freshmen room, I was really pleased. the view is a lot nicer, and the girl who greeted me, courtney, was a real sweety with a vivid personality. the girl I would share my room with, monet, wasn't there, but by examining her room I could tell she was a fun person. the arrangement of the furniture in the room is odd, but I'm hoping monet and I can work that out. the bathroom is nicer than ours (and has a window!!) and the living room is nicely decorated with a huge tv. the kitchen is clean and spacious. and the girl that left, jessica (creepy, huh? I guess all jessicas are pure evil), was a real slob who had her rude as hell boyfriend over all the time.
I really liked what I saw, so I went to paul, the RD I met with today, and we did the computer work to sign me in for a room change. now I just have to go to the hosuing office tomorrow, tell them what room I want, and it's alllllll gravy.
here's the isht, though: I only have 48 hours to make the move. so, I'm gonna use the medical condition thing as a request to ask for an extension, and see if they'll hold the room for me until friday. if I can wait until friday to move in, I get all weekend to move, and not just 48 hours. so I'll go in tomorrow morning, ask them to hold the room til friday, then move in over the weekend.
the most important part: if you would be willing to help me move my shit up 3 floors (there's an elevator and I own a handtruck), PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! I'm not sure what will happen with austin's move now, but I can use all the help I can get.
thank god, a light at the end of the tunnel. once I get out of this room, I just know things will ease up. I feel encouraged about the new room and girls... I hope I'm making the right move.
moving,
hope,
roommates
