Bye bye Ms. Monroe

Well, that was one heck of a Saturday.

The weather couldn't possibly get worse as throughout the day it either a) rained b) snowed c) hailed or d)all of the above simutaneously with a LOT of wind. It reminded me of english class and the use of pathetic fallacy. This either meant that going to Club Rockit for Band Wars at night was going to be bad and sucky or even worse.

Or maybe it wasn't so bad.

First Jeeves and I stopped by for Ramone's surprise party at his church. Surprise went flop, met some new people, hugged Rachel, hated Adam, and ran off with half a box of pizza for the road.
Now before I continue, I need to mention that Club Rockit is this green building on Church St. and is incredibly narrow and small. By the time I was admitted through the doors, I was already feeling a mild sense of claustrophobia. The lights were lowly dimmed and the entire place smelled like old urine. Great. But that night was apparently the last show for Club Rockit.

Jeeves and I met up with Corey's band (Goodbye Norma Jean) and stayed with Uncle Hamlet for the entire night. I forgot how cool he is, that uncle hamlet. He was showing me how he wore ear plugs which reminded me that I had a pair of plugs in my purse so I won't go completely deaf by the end of the night.

Overall there were many many bands that played, a few were pretty darn good but the rest sucked. Regardless, there was a heck of a lot of moshing and crowd surfing going on. There was one kid who I swear was completely drunk. He kept falling down and dancing around. He was also about to take off his pants. Yay.
Goodbye Norma Jean was, by far the best alongside The Spank and some other band whom I cannot remember.

What's better is that everyone else seemed to think so as well! See Supernova's (crappy) Article

I'm SO HAPPY for them! I remember I just kept smiling and tapping my foot to the beat while they were performing. Corey's voice was nothing like I had remembered from his acoustic recordings and Ben was acting like a loser jumping down from the stage and pushing people trying to get the crowd to mosh =)

Well, congratulations GNJ. You guys are going to make it far =]
