I can't sleep. I want to, but I can't. I have to get up early tomorrow.
Tomorrow is Independence Day! I know that everyone is thinking about a free land, but how about thinking about us as a free people spiritually.
*Tomorrow reminds me of how men and women have fought for our freedom.
-Tomorrow also reminds me of how Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again for my freedom.
*Tomorrow reminds me of patriotism, and how our nation gets so passionate about what tomorrow stands for.
-Tomorrow also reminds me of the apathy that we show towards the love Christ showed for us. We should be as passionate everyday about what Christ has done for us, as we get passionate about July 4th.
*Tomorrow reminds me of the millions of dollars people are going to spend on fireworks, hotdogs, and other items for entertainment.
-Tomorrow also reminds me of how little we give to others and how much we keep for ourselves.
*Tomorrow reminds me of the pride our nation feels when we sing the National Anthem or say the Pledge of Allegiance.
-Tomorrow also reminds me of how our nation wants to take the principles of God out of our schools and public places even though it was what this nation was founded on.
Just think.......There are a lot of passionate people in the world. Imagine if we all expressed as much passion for Christ as we do with sports, national holidays, celebrities, movies, music, fads, and other such things.
I hope that everyone has a happy 4th of July. Be proud of our nation and those that have fought for us. Be proud of how much Christ has blessed us.
