Didn't go to work. Have to go to physio at 3pm. Sunday morning I woke up with a stiff muscles in my shoulderblade, must've slept funny. Tried heating pad, drugs... Trouble going to sleep last night. Woke up this morning, stiffness spread to my neck, could barely raise my arm. It's loosened a bit, but I think only physio is going to fix it. Plus my hip/bum is acting up again. I've got Nick for this appointment, he runs the place, and when I'm having continuing problems, he's usually the one who finally solves it.

More than 450 calls for assistance were made in the 24 hours to midnight yesterday, as heavy rain hit NSW and parts of the ACT, leaving one person dead and severely damaging a western Sydney shopping centre.

But there was some good news as the deluge continued ... much of it has been falling in Sydney's catchment area, boosting dam levels.

The State Emergency Service said it received 455 calls for assistance yesterday, 210 of them centering on Campbelltown, in Sydney's west.

A man died when a tree felled by gale-force winds crushed his ute near Temora, in the state's west, about 3.20pm.

And heavy rain caused large sections of Campbelltown Mall's ceiling to collapse, forcing the evacuation of about 1000 people.

My poor brother's at Campbelltown, they've had 100mm (4 inches) in the last 24 hours, and around 50mm in the previous day. He put tarps on the roof yesterday morning, but one came loose overnight. He went to Bunnings this morning to buy more rope, they've run out of ladders/wet weather gear etc. His mate came round this morning and helped him redo the tarps and tie them down better. Poor boy, he's taken this week off work because he's on antibiotic treatment to kill his ulcer bacteria and it makes him feel sick. This is the last thing he needed.

Up our way we've had about 60mm (over 2 inches) in the last 48 hours. Some areas of the south coast, including Bega, have had over 200mm (8 inches) in 24 hours. The dam catchments are also getting good falls. There was a bloke from the Weather Company on the morning news and he said it's looking promising that in the next few months we may be moving out of the drought, possibly across the entire country. We haven't seen rain like this in the Sydney area and catchment since 1998. *fingers crossed*

weather, health
