I had a bit of a tickle in my throat yesterday. Last night the throat infection fully kicked in. I tend to do that. Not so much now, but when I was in my teens/early 20s, if I didn't get antibiotics straight away, pretty much within a day of developing the cough, I'd go straight into a secondary throat infection/middle ear infection. One doctor denied me antibiotics (even though I had a long medical history), the next day I was into a secondary infection that had me off uni for two weeks, went through several courses of different antibiotics, and had my normal GP worried that I'd developed pneumonia. Luckily, in the last decade I've had very few throat infections and only one or two that required antibiotics. Not sure whether it's a coincidence that that's about the time frame I've had the arthritis...
Typical first night, up and down to the loo, throat making me feel gluggy and sick. I got maybe 2-3 hours sleep, most of that after 5am (and we're going to slit dad's throat - between him continuously coughing (honestly, no one needs to cough as much as he does), my brother sleep talking and laughing, and then my sister snoring...). And I hadn't slept well the previous few nights. Was also feeling extremely hot.
Don't know whether it's from the marking over the last few days, not sleeping enough to relax the body, but joints are acting up. My knees were burning this morning, hands have been hurting the last few days.
Went to work, lasted from 12.30 to 4.10pm when dad picked me up after he went to the doctor (usually work till 6.30pm). Couldn't deal with the aching body any longer, plus so hard to concentrate. Hoping the throat doesn't get any worse, my voice is pretty croaky and I'm a little barky. Will see how I am in the morning as to whether I go to the doctor.
