Mum and I went to see our GP this arvo (I was amazed since mum called them about 1pm, and the appointment was 4.30pm). I made him feel old when he realised my age. We've know him since I think I was probably 10 or so, he took over as our GP when our old GP, Dr Bill, got sick (and died) in my mid teens. Dr Bill delivered my aunt and took out my mum's tonsils when she was 10. And my grandmother had been going to that same practice for quite a while before that.

We've both got a viral infection of the inner ear, which is why our balance is off (when mum said we had vertigo, Dr Cottee started leaning to the side). Nothing can be done about it, just have to wait for it to leave (mum said she's feeling a bit better, and she got it a few days before me). We have got tablets for the dizziness, and our chemist said that there's a lot of it around at the moment.

I'd rather a sore throat than vertigo. It's extremely disturbing.
