If well respected authors are saying what your stories strengths as well as weaknesses are, then there's oodles to learn from, and plently to improve on. Your skills as a writer can only grow from such feedback.
I'd love if that was the case. I value mandysbitch so much because she'll tell me what isn't working for her. While it is subjective to a point, I wish more people would do that in WW. This may not make much sense to anyone but me, but it isn't the praise as such I want. I want to know that what I'm doing is right, that I'm capturing the characters, the style of the show. But I'm not getting anything/barely. I posted the NCIS drabble to fanfiction.net, got 2 responses. One was my sister, the other someone who had been reading my WW lately. Did the NCIS people hate it? Not read it? I just feel like I'm working in a vacuum and have no idea if I'm off base or what. Getting characterisation and the feel of a show right is paramount to me. I'm happy to work on that, to persevere if I'm somewhere in the general vicinity. But when there's just resounding silence... I'm probably making no sense.
