I, Amoeba

this weekend i went conoeing on the colorado river in nevada with my boyscout troop. we started just below the hoover dam and went about 18 miles downstream over two days. it was quite a bit harder than we expected since there was such stron headwind that if we stopped paddling we would be pushed back upstream. we made some stops along the shore to explore around. at one stop there was this long cave with water coming out of it from a hot spring. it was pitch black in there and went back about 40 feet, and it was like a sauna how hot and humid it was. it felt really good.we were warned not to stick our head completely in the hot water as ther is an amoeba that lives in the hot spring which can travel up your nose and destroy your brain O_o. anyways, another stop there was a narrow canyon carved out by a river from a hot spring, which we explored up about a mile. there were a ton of waterfalls we had to scale up with only a knotted rope tied to the top by someone before us to help us do it. a lot of the younger boys couldnt make it up any of the falls, but it was fun to watch them try. they would get maybe halfway up then lose their grip and fall into the pool below. when we got pretty far up we got to a place where the rocks seemed to form a natural jacquese, with seats and everything. it felt good sitting in it. we beached and camped for the night in a sandy cove, ate steak, sat around the campfire, played cards and betted with rocks, etc etc. then we went to sleep under the stars. only there werent really any stars cause where we were is way too close to vegas to see any. haha. but there were a lot of bats out feeding on all the bugs there were down by the river. you could hear them shrieking. the next day nothing really eventful happened, except me and the people in my canoe decided to paddle backwards for a good part of the way. just for the hell of it. needless to say, we couldnt steer very well that way. then we beached, got in the cars and came back here. i took a shower, and here i am now. tada.

TEH END!
