The housewarmings have finally started, though rather inadvertently. On most thursdays, I have dinner with Tim and David, sometimes Em (movie night friends from Paris part 1). Last week, I cooked for them instead: spinach lasagna (it was supposed to be cannelloni, but I was too lazy to roll it up), chevre salad with the honey dressing a la bakerswinkel and roasted squash with walnuts.
This week, since we all happen to be in the city, I invited Sampoorna, Vera and Rachel over for dinner. Since I've got a whole bunch of left over ingredients from last week, I'm just going to be lazy and do variations on a theme: vegetarian lasagne (tomato based this time), banana walnut bread and maybe the same salad, since I still have chevre leftover.
Now that I've proven to myself I can do western stuff, I need to embark chinese food. Much much harder, not to mention longer trips all the way to chinatown to get ingredients. But my stomach's protesting against too much cheese - I have 5 different kinds right now - and I need something 清. Thank god we're going to Nyonya for dinner on Tues.
vie,
