Random thought on cell phones-
I think the reason everyone hates cell phones is that they directly devalue personal contact, and not just with the person you're talking to. When you answer your cell phone in a restaurant, you are saying to whoever you're there with, "I consider this random person's electronic communication more important than my direct personal experience with you."
