Hi, I'm Katy. I'm a freshman at UCSC, and I'd love to share some good stuff with people, as well as get some awesome stuff from people. I plan on studying Environmental Studies, but no one really cares to hear about that. I tried to come up with a nice wishlist that is sensible, and unique. So, this is what I've come up with.
1) Trader Joes gift card - This is the nearest and best grocery store near my college. It's hard to find good food anywhere else, and still have it be convenient enough to lug back home on a bus. (They don't allow freshmen and sophomores to have cars, so we've become accustomed to taking buses.) I love all their stuff, and I would love to have some money just for there to give me that incentive to eat better.
2) Quarters - I don't collect them, I don't care how old they are. All I care is that they are American quarters that fit into the slots of washing and drying machines. I'm always trying to scrounge up quarters, and you can't ask anyone on campus to borrow some because they too, are trying to stay clean. Anything you have lying around helps!
3) Exercise DVDs - Believe it or not, I haven't gained the freshmen 15, as there are too many hills around UCSC to physically get fat on. However, I have been DYING to do aerobics, and they keep cancelling the darn class, so I've resorted to sweating it out in my room. Anything you've got would be great! Sadly, VHS does not work, I don't have a VCR in my dorm.
4) School/Office Supplies - I love to try new pens. I love to draw on pretty paper. I love to do origami crane chains with those colorful squares of paper (that are not sticky) and hang them and hand them out as gifts. So I would LOVE to have all sorts of supplies! Whether it is for organizing or writing or origami-ing, I would love them! (Especially the colorul cubes of paper that aren't sticky.)
5) Mixed Electronica/Techno/Happy Hardcore/Trance/etc. CDs - I LOVE these types of music. I can listen to them all day with no signs of getting sick of them. It really is a good thing to have around, and it makes me feel happier about myself and the world. Cliche? I don't care, it's true man!
6) iTunes Gift Card - I have found so many good albums and mixed albums on iTunes, and I can't seem to get myself to spend any money on them unless it comes from a gift card. Even then, I have problems. I'll cherish this gift for a while, count on it!
7) Antenna toppers - I have a huge collection of antenna toppers ranging from gas station signs, to Disney heads, to those clever Jack-in-the-Box toppers they put out during the holidays. I love them. I would especially love to have some from other countries, or from other time periods. Anything goes, I just put them up and admire them with joy!
8) Head scarves - I love to wear head scarves rolled up and used as a kind of headband. I think they're really unique looking and they are perfect for bad hair days! They can be used, colorful, plain, solid, patterened, I don't care! Everyone has some lying around, and I'll put them to good use, I promise.
9) A Yellow Backpack - I have been searching all over for a bright yellow backpack. A good, functional, sturdy one with a normal style. I'm not talking a hiking backpack with a million zippers, lanyards and pull ties in every direction, just a simple one. Jansport style, y'know?
10) Top Ramen - I LURVE top ramen, and I have even before I went off to college. I never have the time to make a trip to the local Costco to pick up a box or two, but I've been craving it and love to eat it. It's a good comfort food, and I enjoy all sorts of flavors! Bowls, bags, whatever, they're all wonderful!
If you feel like fulfilling any of my cravings or wishes, go ahead and comment back or email me at odeedos@hotmail.com with some sort of indication that you are not a spammer. (Something like "Your LJ Wishlist" or something so I know it's not some advertisement trying to get me to take Viagra. Yes, I get those all the time. No, I don't have a penis.)
