Today shall consist of one of my fav-ou-rite things... PACKING!!! And yes, the fact that I pronounced favourite slowwwly and in bits is indeed because I am being sarcastic. I hate it. It makes me so stressed and angry that I want to throw myself down a well and scratch off all my skin. But, Jessica moves into halls (well, her luxury bachelorette pad plus four) tomorrow and she sort of needs stuff to, y'know, wear and do and write on etc. etc. etc. So, I shall push my chequered past with packing behind me and help her because she's my sister and I am, essentially, a nice person. It's not because I want rid of her, because if I had my way, she'd be shackled to me on a really, really long chain so that she could still fetch me things but also be close to me for banterous times and shenanigans and such like.
I am currently drinking some 'Exotic Juice' which looks like a brimming tumbler full of pee. If pee did taste like this though, everyone would do that drink-your-own-urine-to-keep-you-healthy thing. I don't know how it works, but whatever it is, it wouldn't work for me.
Yesterday I spent the day at mum's. I got up super-duper-almost-makes-you-pooper early in order to get there a) for free - no taxi money required b) without much hassle - up early, in car with dad vs. finding taxi phone number, finding available taxi, waiting for late taxi, finding lame small talk for taxi driver, paying taxi driver and c) so I could spend LOTS of time there.
I got there before Craig had even gone to school! We chatted about Yu-Gi-Oh and I tried to describe two cards to him but he totally couldn't remember so I spent about half an hour looking through all his cards (in which time he'd had breakfast, gotten dressed and left for school with mum) but eventually I did find them - Monster Reborn and Gazelle the Mythical Beast for any of those actually interested.
When mum came back we sat and chatted for hours, about all the things we normally chat about when little ears are not in range: boys and hospital related topics and books and movies and such like. I sat and played with the kittens for a while until Jessica ambled in at about lunchtime.
After lunch and a little blabber, I played "Poirot" on the computer. It is amazing and so much fun. Basically, there are rooms that you have to search in for items. The items are strewn about in about other items and the surroundings and some are cleverly masked and really inconspicuous. After you've completed a few rooms there are puzzles to work out and then there's more rooms, with more items in more wacky places and after all of that... I don't know, I only played for an hour or so in total.
Once Craig got home, we talked Yu-Gi-Oh some more, Jess played something on the PS2 with him and I watched, his friend Jamie came over very briefly, we watched some TV, Poirot-ed it some more and then me, Jess and mum had tea.
Mum miscalculated the time and so we had tea pretty early but that gave us copious amounts of time to play Texas Hold'em/Hold 'Em/Holdem (whatever). Sadly, my leg was playing up so I was sprawled on the sofa in quite a large amount of pain when Jess tried to teach me how to play. I really was not getting it and I was sore... cue the tears. I just watched for a while. We were using Yu-Gi-Oh cards as money - different colours for different amounts. Once I bucked up I started to get it a bit more, I started to play. And I did really well. I won quite a number of hands, including some in a row. I put it down to beginner's luck but there were speculations as to whether or not I hadn't played before. From my own family and all. Shocking. And that's how the evening ended, with poker and Yu-Gi-Oh cards and it was all good in the hood.
As for today, once lunch has been devoured, packing shall commence...
